Political Quiz

I took the (flawed?) How Liberal Or Conservative Are You? quiz that Bryan took and here are my results:

Overall: 55% Conservative, 45% Liberal
Social Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Ethics: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

No doubt my political views have significantly changed over the past five years, but I would argue that the definitions of conservative and liberal have significantly changed. No party exists that believes in smaller federal government, lessening foreign entanglements, a balanced budget, responsible business growth (ecologically sustainable and not in a foreign country), personal social freedoms, overhauling public education, and overhauling intellectual property laws. I’m hoping for something good from Unity08.

Good for you? Share!

  1. [...] Jeremiah had this quiz on his blog. It’s entitled How Liberal Or Conservative Are You? and I scored not very surprisingly, but I think there are a few flaws still. [...]

Wow, I scored even more conservative than you did! Then again, if anything, I have become more conservative in the past few years.

  3. Rianna Banana says:

I’m more liberal than you on ethics. 4 years ago, would you EVER have believed that that was possible?

  4. Jeremiah says:

Never, but we’re both reflective of a shift in American politics that I wouldn’t have imagined four years ago either.

I’m pretty sure that the labels “conservative” and “liberal” have absolutely no meaning anymore. And come to think of it, I’m pretty sure we’ve had this conversation before… probably multiple times, lol. So I’ll just leave it at that and be on my merry way.
