Thou Shalt Be Judged

Some said that I seemed a bit bitter after losing to inferiority at The 25th Annual EVVY Awards. I’m not upset, just boggled. I don’t say this out of hubris, but I know that I’m one of the best graphic and web designers / developers / producers on campus. I can admit when I’m out-pixeled, but I absolutely do not understand how Robin Hoyt and A Look Inside Robin Hoyt at RobinHoytDotCom beat my entries.
Thus, I present to you, the EVVY judges for Best Website:
- Jessica Crispo, Big Fish Communications: Clearly, her opinion cannot be taken seriously. The site is HTML 4, uses a table based layout, and looks like something I did in 6th grade.
- Fred Light: I fear for his clients.
- Ryan Junell: At least his site validates. His non-web work seems strong.
- Chris Lund, Mindflood: This is the only judge whose opinion is worthy of consideration for The EVVY Awards.
And now, the EVVY judges for Best Interactive:
- Valerie Herana, Grace Community Church: Catching fireflies is not nearly as interactive as hating gays.
- Frank Kanach, EFX Media: The nav bar and intro movie would compel me to use their services… if it was 1997.
- Christine Leone, Arnold Worldwide: Great agency, but not so much known for its interactivity.
- Anita Razzano: Must be quite the VFX artist, but (again) this is an interactive media category.

That Big Fish website is terrible.
Your talents have been recognized in the past – financially – which recognition will continue well into the future. Jeremiah, you are brilliant. Thank gawd that success for you does not depend on EVVY Awards. Unfortunately, there will sometimes be those who get awards; yet are definitely not winners. Regardless of any such recognitions that you may or may not receive along the way, you will always be a winner, Jeremiah.
An adoring fan – Waldo.
