Push-to-Annoy

I hate Nextel’s Push-to-Talk service. and its users. Is retrieving a number from your speed dial and having a conversation at a normal non-disrupting voice volume that much more arduous? Most every cell service company now has free in-network calling, so push-to-talk has no economic advantage.

My limited observations reveal that push-to-talkers are gossip queens and want the whole world to hear both sides of their conversation. They also need that ear-piercing blip noise to signal when the person on the other end is finished with a thought.

If you are a push-to-talker, there is help. Try text messaging if you want to look cool.

Hey! I have nextel and never use PTT… well, I do, but it’s on private… You can actually use it without hte speaker. If someone is annoying you with it, tell them to put it on private.

    Where you at?!

…..sighs and nods approvingly. (tangents) The bluetooth handsfree in my prius out-cools everything nextel can ever hope to implement with its target base, while making me feel like so much less of an asshole when I (rarely) have to talk in the car. I hope this feature is getting picked up in the rest of the auto world.

    You’ve been awfully quiet lately.

Thank you! Like seriously… I had Nextel and I never used ptt… like, ever! even if it was on the private mode, the lag in conversation was retarded… having to push the damn button every freakin time… and the annoying sound if both of you push the talk button at the same time… unbearable… i’m perfectly happy with my SE S710a by Cingular
