Pimpin the V66

My Motorola A630 refuses to charge without extreme contortion of phone and charger. Somehow the phone’s charger connections only work at the very front, which makes charging a difficult process. I don’t think I have any sort of warranty to fix my beloved phone.

I found a crappy used V66 on eBay, so I will be answering your calls on that chintzy thing until I can get a new phone in January. :-\

That must be a Motorola thing. I have a similar problem with my V551. It often won’t charge unless I jiggle the connector a bit and then it will sometimes stop charging. When I got it, the battery was defective & wouldn’t hold a charge for a full day even if I didn’t use it. Cingular gave me a new battery which fixed that.

Their Bluetooth implementation also sucks. It wouldn’t sync with iSync until the Tiger version, and even that is unreliable. I also can’t send files to my Mac via Bluetooth as I could on my Sony-Ericsson phones. I can only browse the phone from bluetooth file utility to copy files.

Mike: The A630 has an *excellent* implementation of BlueTooth. You just have make iSync talk.

T-Mobile phones typically come with a 12-month warranty for defects not related to use. They replaced my phone no problem a few years ago. Just call 611 and they will hook you up.

coming from my experience from getting yelled erm working in a cell phone store, all phones come with a 12 month warranty. Motorola’s are notorious for their chargers not staying in the port because of the way their port is built. take it in to the local store and see if they can exchange it although it seems like every store other than verizon makes you call in to get your phone replaced but then again verizon puts restrictions on their bluetooth phones.

Nick I agree absolutely, the older Moto’s had some problems with the chargers. I’ve been using Moto’s for years and have experienced it many times.

I now have the RAZR V3 and it has a mini-usb port for the charger which is very nice because that issue is gone and I can also charge my phone using a usb 2.0 port on my Mac :)

I always loved my Motorolas (I’ve been through 80,000 phones). But I just bought an LG a few months ago and it’s been nothing but trouble.
