Filling out the forms online is the only aspect entrants see. The online system plays a larger role in the actual duplication and judging of entries. A few issues exist in puttin the entire process online.

The Emerson College Finance Office does not have any way for The EVVYs to receive online payments and we are not allowed to use third-parties payment (such as PayPal or my merchant account for credit cards).

Additionally, there is no way we could receive everyone's entry media online. I would love for judges to just go online, download the entries, and rate them there, but people cannot even export a project properly to DVD. Do you really think that I could trust them to encode their projects well enough for online viewing?

The last part is the talent release signature. The online form will not accept an entry without the user agreeing to the talent release, but The Powers That Be want a physical signature. This is tacked to the bottom of the form identifying your media and payment anyway, so no biggie.

you know, what's funny is this: you call it "online submission"... but you can't really submit online... you can just fill out the form online. Why, Jeremiah, why? :( I was so excited... and then I was sad.

I'm glad the weekend is over though :)
