Liberals LOVE Regulating Freedom

San Francisco May Regulate Blogging
Just when you thought the Federal Election Commission had it out for the blogosphere, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors took it up a notch and announced yesterday that it will soon vote on a city ordinance that would require local bloggers to register with the city Ethics Commission and report all blog-related costs that exceed $1,000 in the aggregate.
Blogs that mention candidates for local office that receive more than 500 hits will be forced to pay a registration fee and will be subject to website traffic audits, according to Chad Jacobs, a San Francisco City Attorney.
San Francisco’s governing bodies hate America’s freedoms. In addition to housing the most overturned court circuit in the country, the city now wants to regulate your freedom of speech. Note to self: don’t move there.

Yeah, I’m a little confused how so many “liberal” cities regulate everything. Places like San Francisco, Davis (near my home), and Santa Cruz which are supposed to be so liberal pass laws for anything and everything.
But then ultra-conservatives think it’s in their mission to pass all sorts of laws regulating what we can and cannot do with our bodies, to name a few.
So I’ve concluded that people are just nuts. hehe Personally, I would rather people stop telling me what to do. I like to think I’m a reasonable person who can think for himself, thank you very much.

This is completely insane. This, and now Congress having spasms because they can’t play Napster music on an iPod. Isn’t there anything better for these people to be doing?
Well, it ain’t liberals trying to keep Gay Americans second-class citizens by banning their marriage and/or civil unions. Compared to that, I would personally consider some city regulating blogging a relative non-issue.
Marriage is not a right granted by the Constitution. San Francisco is violating the first amendment. Not recognizing gay marriage violates nothing in the Constitution, only common sense.
Jeremiah, no offense, but I don’t know what rock you’ve been hiding under. Conservatives all across the country are actively attempting to legislate a BAN on Gay American citizens from forming marriage and/or civil unions. Talk about regulating freedom to pursue happiness. All you can say is, “uh, er that violates common sense”. Gee, thanks for the sentiment…. Obviously, we have different values. :0)
Bob, not all Conservatives are for such legislation. I am Conservative and I do not support a gay marriage ban. In fact, I do not support legislating marriage at all. If an amendment were to be passed, I would support the ridding of any exclusive benefits to married couples because marriage laws discriminate against single people and those who cannot get married. A true Conservative would say that the government should remain small and that its reach stops at the bedroom.
