Academy Awards

Although I hate the MPAA’s politics, Oscar Night is bigger than the Superbowl or the World Series at Emerson. While writing a paper, I watched. Here are my thoughts:

Jude Law is amazing and Chris Rock, who is only funny because he makes jokes about white people, can shut up.

I loved the adjectives used by the announcer to describe each host. Mike Myers is lovable. Drew Barrymore and Antonio Banderas are multi-talented, the latter actually so.

What was with all the non-English songs in for the predominately American audience?

Josh Groban was like, “I actually have real vibrato,” and Beyonce was like, “Well, I have real boobs? hair? nails? smile?” Seriously, could she possibly be even more fake singing sad songs?

Congrats to Pixar and the producers of Finding Neverland. Million Dollar Baby was short of award worthy, particularly because its ending was so awful.
