2005 Site Improvements
Okay, I need some feedback from the hundreds of people who visit my site daily e.g. YOU!
I am planning a series of minor and massive updates to my blog and am looking for suggestions. Comment to this entry what I could do to improve my blog. Here are a few things people have already e-mailed me (feel free to support/oppose/elaborate):
- More frequent web cam shots
- Ability to filter out categories. Some people never want to read my political entries, but enjoy my technology related entries.
- Better Internet Explorer support (riiight)
- CSS menus that pop over to the side instead of below each section
- Blogroll of sites that I visit daily
- Ability to set cookie to never see my browse better alert. (hint just bookmark http://jeremiahlee.com/index.php?pass=1 ).
- Comments in separate XML feeds
- Vlog or Podcast accompaniment to text entries

If you’re going to keep moderated comments, you really need to add a page letting people know that their comment has been received so they don’t get confused. Poor Adam the other night posted a comment and exclaimed “why did my comment disappear?” Then I explained it to him ::rollseyes::

I think your site is doing pretty well Jeremiah. I don’t think you need to change too much around here but I will second the vote to make your menus open to the side and for more webcam shots. Keep it up!

I have to agree with Tom: something’s a-miss with those menus - you’re much more of a designer than me but maybe the centering (beside such a linear stip down the middle) seem to b e a disjoint? And to my eye they don’t quite look enough like navigation until you go near then then - bam! - they’re kindof wild. Otherwise, I think the blog’s looking great, esp. the content! Which is King as we all know.
