I’ve felt sorry for Kerry a few times this week. He’s starting to look weary now after 250+ days of persistent smiling.

Liberals are more extreme and riot to get what they want. Conservatives are more passive because they just get what they want.

I learned of the death of Emerson College student Victoria Snelgrove during an SGA Senate meeting. I was then bombarded by reporters in the Little Building and Walker Building. One reporter even interrupted an admissions tour of the campus to ask if the students had an reactions to the death before most of the campus even knew about the tragedy. So I offer my reaction: Reporters, get off my campus and leave us alone. Let us mourn without microphones being shoved in our faces.
I must note that The Metro‘s front page story of this tragedy is appropriate and I appreciate the professionalism and respect to my mourning campus.

Emerson College student dies after postgame melee
Another week will begin will less than eight hours. School is such a mixed bag of regularly recurring emotions. I dread my Honors Evolution class for its high work load and complex theories that I couldn’t care less about. I brace myself for another dose of liberal revisionist history in Civil Rights. I fall asleep in Fundamentals of Speech Communication. I jump excitedly and highly anticipate Computer Animation I.
Then there are organizations. I enjoy teaching workshops and assisting students in the Digital Production Labs. I always equate to feeling nothing towards The Emerson Channel; management sometimes annoys me, tape changes are boring, Chyron can be fun. I work my ass off for The EVVY Awards and do it with glee. I avoid doing superfluous committees and tasks in SGA.
I worry about money. Always.
Conclusion? Routines are fun. Routine emotions are not, but I’m too busy to feel anything deeply.
Ryan officially became a switcher this week. Congrats bro-ha and welcome to the other side.
From November 19-23, I will be in sunny (and hopefully not hurricane ridden) Florida. The Emerson College SGA invited me and a few others to represent the school and learn uber-useful skills at the 2004 National Conference on Student Leadership.
Also, I can’t wait to meet up with my friend and fellow EVVY producer, Ryan Brown, who is interning at Disney this semester.
Submitted for your amusement, I present my first assignment for Computer Animation 1. (Apple Quicktime or something that plays MPEG-4 required.)
I will be participating in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2004 in Boston on October 17, 2004. Joining me will be The 24th Annual EVVY Awards crew. Cancer has consumed so many people I loved; my piano teacher, my mother, and one of my best friend’s mother. While these type of events are important for funding research, they also provide hope and reflection for everyone impacted by cancer. If you are able, please consider making a donation.
P.S. If you make a donation, please send me an e-mail (officially at jeremiahlee dot com).
