Why I hate UPS, part 3
UPS will only deliver to my neighborhood between 10:30 and 14:00. The driver never buzzed the apartment yesterday. So even though my roommate finally stuck around for the third delivery attempt, his effort was in vain. Because my roommate inconsiderately missed the first two delivery attempts, a lack of presence on the third delivery attempt was A Bad Thing and usually results in a package being returned to sender. I paid $50 to ship my twin-extra-long bunk bed frame from College Bed Lofts.com. I refuse to pay that charge again because the driver never buzzed.
Already frustrated that my roommate (who has no job or school responsibilities yet) for missing the first and second delivery attempts of our bed frame, I became livid with UPS for not buzzing. In fact, had my other apartmentmate not seen the sticky note on the building door when he left for class, none of us would have known that UPS even tried to deliver yesterday.
I missed all of my classes today waiting for UPS to arrive. Veronica, a UPS dispatcher, assured me that the driver will be here by 12:30.
Time will tell. At least I have internet access now…
EDIT: UPS just arrived, but they did not bring it to my door. I had to haul the two boxes to my apartment with no help from the UPS driver. I guess those handtrucks are for show.

You could always get a mailbox at mailboxes etc as to receive packages… oh wait, nevermind…

::grr:: completely in agreement. UPS holds your package at a megacenter (usually near an airport) for a week before they send it back. I tried foregoing an hour of work to go there at 9am once, and found out that they don’t open until 10:30. Work/school til 6:30 or later most days makes it impossible to make it before they close at 6. I’ve tried leaving notes on my door with signed infonotices PLEADING for delivery to no avail, even though leaving packages is entirely up to the discretion of the driver. nothing works, so I’m officially not doing business with companies that don’t offer an alternative….
