Dreams to Dream by An American Tale: Fievel Goes West Soundtrack

I resolved to sitting on the Lonely Wall. Seven or eight bar-height chairs face a bar-height countertop that faces the wall in the back of the dining hall. I would not say that sitting there makes you a loser, but such action does make others conclude that you want some private time in the midst of a bustling environment. With all the moody W.L.P. majors, this wall is almost always fully occupied.
My afternoon class let out early and the dining hall still buzzed from rush hour. While packed to the max, I did not immediately recognize anyone to sit with. Better to find an empty chair and make new friends than sit on the floor. I sat my stuff down on one of two empty Lonely Wall chairs and headed to gather some spring rolls and half-concentrate orange juice.
Someone grabbed my arm before I returned to my solitary dinner location and invited me to sit across the room at the circular table with the beautiful view of the Boylston and Tremont intersection. Of course I accepted. I had made eye-contact with this person all last semester, but was never in a position to introduce myself. Last Friday’s D.R.D.P. provided this opportunity, somewhat. The real opportunity came over plates of world-class Aramark food.
This person made the food taste better. We watched two movies with a bunch of people at 100 Beacon after dinner and meetings and rehearsals. Upon parting for the night (morning?), I was told to make use of a phone number. I may just have a valentine this year.
Song for the Lonely by Cher
I expected to be a dork and not do anything on a Friday night. But instead I went to Emerson’s City in Transition presentation of Floating Points. Two and half hours of my life wasted on net art. The only people there were students required to suffer through the presentation, me, and those scary artsy-fartsy people who ask pretentious non-questions.
Returning to the dorm and not finding Neil or Sean around, I resigned to dorkdom. But alas, Daniel invited me over to 100 Beacon for a D.R.D.P. with fun third floor and more people. Good times.
Around 2 A.M., I figured that I should take a shower back in 132 Beacon and buy Cher’s Song for the Lonely from the iTMS because the only person I get to cuddle with is my body pillow and it does not like it when I stink from dancing.
Oh, and Ryan / Adam / Bryan called me. That was cool.
iChat Rendezvous buddylists are awesome. Nick Rhodes saw me at the Floating Points event, saw my status in iChat with my blog address, and IMed me. His work is rad, so be sure to put your little clicker over his name and check him out.
Cheryl Wise, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional
contributor, posted a feature comparison chart for Dreamweaver MX 2004, FrontPage 2003 and 2002, GoLive 6, and VS Studio .NET 2003.
Her conclusion? Disregard what she claims and check her own site’s source code. Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional uses Macromedia Dreamweaver, not Microsoft FrontPage.
Granted, Microsoft has very good television commercials. The company still needs help with print and online advertising. The picture below is worth forty billion words.

The O’Reilly Factor: Why is Ex-NYC [Democratic] Mayor Ed Koch Supporting Pres. Bush?
I came to that conclusion about a year or so ago. And it is basically because all of the Democratic contenders seeking to run for president, with the exception of Joe Lieberman, who doesn’t have a chance in the world of succeeding there, they all have decided that they would play to the left and decry all of our efforts to take on terrorism and Saddam Hussein.

This arrived in my Emerson mailbox this morning:
The City of Boston has announced that there will be a victory parade for the New England Patriots [on] Tuesday, February 3, 2004 that will start at Copley Square at 12:00 Noon.
The route of the Parade will be Boylston Street to Tremont Street to Government Center where a rally will be held on City Hall Plaza.
This route passes by and severely impacts upon the Emerson College facilities 80 and 120 Boylston Street and 180 Tremont Street.
The City has announced that Boylston and Tremont Streets will be closed to all vehicular traffic at 11:00 AM in preparation for the parade.
This effectively shuts down the Emerson College Shuttle Bus service during that time and possibly longer if the Boston Police determine that in the interest of Public Safety the streets should be closed sooner and kept closed longer.
Although other streets in the Back Bay and Downtown are not scheduled to close, you can expect residual traffic back up throughout the day.
It is recommended that you utilize public Transportation which will be on rush hour schedule all day.
William McCabe
Director of Public Safety
This should be read as: Emerson College, which essentially owns an entire block of Boylston Street (including the Boylston / Tremont intersection), has the best view of the Victory Parade and students should not attempt to attend classes because there will be an overzealous mob hollering at over-paid professional athletes riding in Duck Tours boats.
Five news helicopters, State Troupers, policemen on motorcycles, policemen on horses, policemen on feet, ringing church bells, a jumbotron in the Common, and 1.5 million people (more than the number of people who attended the Super Bowl) made not getting excited about the Patriots Super Bowl win difficult. Despite missing the Super Bowl and the riots afterwards in order to finish a paper for Honors (I got a 95 on it!), I did enjoy the overwhelming energy on the streets today.
The Yankees suck.
