The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Posted on Sunday, December 8th, 2002 at 23:00.

Official news: I will be attending Macworld San Francisco 2003 in January! Just before conceding to not going, I found airfare less than $300 for my flights from VA (where I will be for Christmas) to Macworld and back to San Diego. Bryan from The Mac Observer helped me significantly in finding these flights. Shawn from Your Mac Life gave me a floor pass to the Expo. The guys from Mac Teens are splitting a hotel room with me and therefore bring my hotel costs to well within budget.

December 5, 2002, passed without any word from GAP. So do not be looking for me in any of its advertisements. The picture I sent to them even had the mad at the world sexy look. I prefer J. Crew anyway.

Friday night, Christy and I made dinner and desert for a few friends from church using all natural ingredients with low or no fat/carbohydrates. The menu was comprised of a bitter lettuce salad with raspberry vinaigrette, curly pasta with roasted tomatoes, sweet peas, broccoli, and sauteed mushrooms followed by frozen vanilla yogurt on brownies covered with hot fudge. Then we played Game Cube with her brother Patrick, watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The O’Reilly Factor. I highly recommend eating dinner at 9 PM with lots of laughter. The night concluded a fast-paced week nicely.

The San Diego Vinoskeys and I hiked up to Hilltop Community Park Saturday late-morning to participate in the Winter Wonderland. After sledding down the man-made, snow-covered hill, Cameron and Emily warned me about their possible snowball attack on me. Children in this area rarely see snow naturally. This was evident when Cameron and Emily’s snowball attack on me turned into every-kid-under-10′s snowball attack on me. I was pelted from every direction by little people with few opportunities to fight back. An hour never passed so quickly.

Looking on to the week ahead, I will hear from Emerson College soon on whether or not I am admitted to the Honors Program. Five applications to other universities will be completed if I am not admitted.
