I believe that God not only equips us with the skills to fulfill our destinies, but also with the people who give us the courage to find our dreams and pursue them. Rianna (11/24/2002)

Once upon a time, some guy took a copy of an overpriced animation utility and animated a bunch of strange pop-culture images set to even stanger Japanese music. Like moths to a flame, a dozen copycats completely ripped off the idea, starting a freaky movement. Yatta!

Giving Thanks

Wednesday, November 27th, 2002

With God is God by Steven Curtis Chapman blasting in my headphones and a sudden mood of extreme humility in my spirit, I worshipped Christ kneeling, palms face up before I went to bed. The fears and the negative energies suffocated under a flood of peace flowing from the dam that just burst as God’s forceful love was no longer held back by the pent up pressures of the world and rushed to sweep me away from all that I knew to be true. What am I thankful for? The select few people in my life who truly know me and provide constant examples of Christian servant hood. Good Day of Thanksgiving and Prayer to you.

I dreamt that my Mom suddenly reappeared in my life. We stood at the doorway of my Meme and Papa’s house on Fox Hall Road in the front bedroom. She came in and told me how sorry she was for not being in my life the past five years and how she knew that she could not have my dad back, but that it was okay because she missed her children so much. Then she hugged me. I was finally taller than her, towering over at this point. Even though I am awake now, I cannot get over how real the dream felt. I miss her so much.

Thanks to Matt, the DNS issues on my Sun Cobalt Raq 4 are no more and all of my sites should be making a grand transition to a new server next week.

I am off to Arizona this Thanksgiving with my uncle and his family to join my grandparents. Annie is also celebrating her 18th birthday during our stay. Audible.com will provide stimulus for the five hour drive.

Quick news: I got a haircut, went for something a little different than usual and I love the results. No pictures until I get highlights! • Adam sent me his mix collection, entitled Audiovivid; quite refreshing indeed. • My gift shopping this Christmas will be minimal, but I am most excited about my gifts to the natives. • If ZJAM has the funds, I will be joining them in Nashville in January. After my Emerson College Honors Application, this is the most prayed about item in my life currently.

Macs in Life

I tuned into Bill O’Reilly‘s Radio Factor for the first time today. The guy is a genius in life and online. Not only does his new web site use JSP, it also features an eMac.

Ellen Feiss, in an interview with a Brown University newspaper, is quoted as saying, "Me and Hamilton have decided that our new nemesis is Jeremiah Cohick. He’s our age, and he’s trying to steal our limelight! We decided we don’t like him. We’re out to get him." Ellen, just remember that our wonderful time in the limelight expires on December 7, 2003, but I am up for a game of tag at Mac World Expo San Fran 2003.

Tabacco Kills

Over 1200 people die from smoking-related causes everyday. My Meme (my mother’s mother) quit smoking a few years ago (with the motivation from her young grandson) and was amazed at how much smoking had crippled her health. Join the Great American Smokeout. Now is always the best time to stop the chain. Need more motivation? Check out YDoUThink and TheTruth campaigns.

In other health related news, I am now without health insurance. My dad told the health insurance company that I neither resided in Virginia or attended school. Both are false. Virginia will be my home base until I graduate from college and establish a place of my own. I am enrolled at Emerson College, though I am currently on deferment. My dad gave scattered details to me yesterday and I do not believe he is telling me the entire truth.

Update: After further explanation, the insurance company, not my father, is probably the incompetent one in this situation. Regardless, I now have an unexpected money drain.

It was very clear to me that the Internet was where everyone was going to be. It was especially clear to me after everybody had already gone there. Bill Gates, as quoted from his Comdex keynote about Microsoft’s late arrival to the online scene.

Balboa Park Scrapbook

Tuesday, November 19th, 2002

Saturday night’s college small group at RBCPC ended the week with much needed hilarity. From Erica giving me tips on buffing up to Ken’s ten-minute condensed theology lesson on the end times to Christy’s self-promotion of "Duchess" in my Palm address book, the good times rolled.

Christy, Nick, and I went out for lunch today at a Greek restaurant. Besides being out of romaine lettuce and getting my food 15-minutes after everyone else (thus causing us to abandon our original plan of seeing Jonah), the experience was worthwhile. We drove to Balboa Park and took advantage of the "Free Tuesdays" promotion that gave us free access to selected museums.
