Special thanks to Mr. Shawn King for the opportunity to be on his show, Your Mac Life, last night. Catch the archive here.
A few thoughts that I did not get to mention last night: Some people would argue that because I deal with so much media, I am an artsy person who should be using a Mac anyway. Everything that I do on my Mac can be done in Windows using the same programs. My geek friends do not understand why I would choose hardware that is seemingly more expensive than comparable x86 hardware to run the same programs that I already used productively in Windows. The answer to that argument is Mac OS X. After nearly two years of being a Switcher, my Mac OS X experience has been nearly flawless. Explaining how an OS with many of the same features already in another OS is better than the other is difficult without guiding someone through the process of accomplishing daily tasks. I can do more with fewer steps and discover the process on my own easily in Mac OS X. These same people complain about Apple hardware. After using Mac OS X and never having any problems with the computer, I totally do not care about tinkering with the hardware anymore. The computer performs and never fails. Why touch it?
Annie is visiting the San Diego Vinoskeys today and tomorrow. Hopefully we will be able to check out the Apple Store in San Diego on Friday in order to help her choose a computer for college.
