Virginia Recall

What happened during the last 12,960 minutes in Virginia? Ryan and I had our usual Friday (09/06/2002) movie night at the Cinemark Movies 10. Eight Legged Freaks topped the agenda as I hurriedly prepared. Prior to seeing the movie and at the expense of my favorite white shirt, I learned that polyester melts when exposed to high heat. Oh well, one less thing to pack. I don’t have much luck with jewelry either, but my fingers were feeling a little naked. Ryan and I stopped by Easter Island in Chandler’s Mountain Station. I found a great trinity thumb ring. Yippee!
Saturday was truly an emotional roller coaster. The thrill of my Switcher ad airing was matched by the shrill of my parents refusing to allow my native siblings and me to attend a special dinner with my Meme. The incompetency in the house was so thick that Rachel and I could barely cut a hole to escape through, but we did. After dinner with Ryan at Backyard Grill, we headed to see SwimFan and reluctantly headed back “home.” I caught a last minute iced mochaccino with Mark at V&T’s before heading to bed.
Sunday = WHOA! Blue Ridge Community Church once again awed me in how church can celebrate Christ through the arts. And even kewler is that a waitress that Mark and I had been talking to at Applebee’s came for the first time! BRCC’s Sunday afternoon baptism encouraged me to keep focused on actions that only have eternal value. And on Sunday night, I met this amazing L.U. grad student from Boston. I’m definitely looking forward to chillin’ with him when I return to Da Burg.
Check the archives for regular blogging and resume thinking at the next weekend after my Power Mac was traveling across the great U. S. of A. via FedEx.
Mark, Rachel, (the Rianna no show), Ryan, Shawn, and two of Mark’s friends relished a Friday (09/13/2002) movie night (Austin Powers, Dumb & Dumber, half of Oceans 11) and dinner at Applebee’s. Dad refused to let Rachel and me finish watching Oceans 11 because we would have gotten home after the ridiculous 11 PM curfew. At least the sparkling grape juice was good.
I headed back over to Mark’s apartment on Saturday night to burn 16 data CDs and finish watching Oceans 11, Austin Powers 2.
