Shout out to Professor Torrence at Liberty University and her 9 A.M. marketing class that I spoke to today.

Reading about myself in the media is a new thing for me. I thought that I would share some highlights:

Reformed Mac hater Jeremiah Cohick joins the youth brigade as he talks about being the only Mac user in his PC-using household. Peter Cohen, MacCentral, 09/07/2002

(Ed: Thanks Mr. Cohen!)

Special bravery consideration has to go to students Jeremiah Cohick and Hamilton Morris. Neither fits the stereotype of a football player or a sitcom student – both look somewhat nerdy and talk about technology while smiling, which to the Kool Kids will undoubtedly mean “fresh meat.” Cohick is a reformed Mac basher who says, ‘Get out of your Windows world! It’s not worth it!’ Mac Journals, 09/09/2002.

(Ed: As I said in my response to MJ, I know that I’m not going to be on the cover of Men’s Health but calling me nerdy, fresh meat, etc. is just wrong! Wrong I say!)

Jeremiah Cohik offers our favorite new Switch commercial. Mr. Cohik [sic] is a young man who starts off by saying ‘I used to bash Macs, but that was more a move out of ignorance,’ a theme that many long-term Mac users will recognize from their own daily-interactions with PC users. It’s also a theme that will strike a chord with many a potential Switcher watching the commercial. At the end of the spot, he extols ‘Get out of your Windows world! It’s not worth it!’ This spot seems to be aimed at young people, and in a much different way than the now super-popular Ellen Weiss ads. Bryan Chaffin, Mac Observer, 09/09/2002

(Ed: Why, Mac Observer, I like you too!)

The response at DBM, Mac Addict, and Mac Central forums has been so positive. Thanks for the support!

I like being a Switcher just for all the emails from Techno Talking Babes® who rank me beside Apple’s Middle Seat commercial star and above the Dell Dude.

Major props to Apple’s web department for fixing my horizonally stretched, egg-head picture on the click-to-play screen.

Good for you? Share!
